Projects & Budget

As it is elsewhere mentioned, for the approximately 60 years of its history, our Community’s life and activities have been revolving around the Church, the Community Centre and the Greek School. It is there where Divine Liturgy is celebrated; it is there where we all gather after Liturgy to drink our coffee and socialize; it is there where our children are registered to be instructed on the orthodox faith, to speak the Greek language and to learn the Greek civilization. All three buildings are over a hundred years old (!), meaning, they need money for maintenance and repairs.

Thus, likewise we all look after and care for our houses, our Community’s Committees look after and care for the “House of God”, the Community Centre and the School: to be well maintained, safe and healthy, and, this way, available each Sunday, ecclesiastical feast, national anniversary and Community event for the participating members, visitors and every interested.

Maintenance, repairs, extensions, beautification and modernization of all three buildings and their equipment has historically been the main objective of the Community Committees. Currently, the priorities, as decided by the Executive Committee, along with their estimated cost stand as follows:

  1. School Roof Replacement: £25,000
  2. Structural repairs and maintenance of Church Building: £18,000
  3. Kitchen Renovation: £50,000
  4. New Hall furniture: £15,000
  5. Central Heating Boilers Replacement: £30,000

The above mentioned works, especially no 1 and no 2, stand on high priority and should be completed before coming winter.

This is why we appeal for your help by whatever a donation, preferably as a monthly standing order, and transfer it to our bank account:
